![]() When I installed my GPU incorrectly, the computer failed to POST. Hopefully this helps someone with a similar problem! Computer showed that I had 8gb of ram available. 20) CPU/VGA/DRAM/BOOT (Status LEDs) The status LEDs show whether the CPU, graphics card, memory, and operating system are working properly after system power-on. I then tested all my other parts, reinstalled the components into the case and installed windows. The combination of 2 ram sticks in memory slots 1 and 2 allowed my computer to reach BIOS. (My motherboard manual had specific spots for where you placed the ram depending on the number of sticks you had). MSI Z690 Edge Wi-Fi DDR4 - CPU red debug led, DRAM falshing yellow mey. I then went and tried the ram sticks on the not recommended slots. It will probably take 5-10 minutes and your flash port will flash a green LED to. It’s probably a problem if you see that a RAM stick’s side clamps are not tightly fastened. I also tried doing each ram stick on its own in memory slot 2 and both managed to reach BIOS so I knew that the ram sticks weren't the problem. DRAM: The presence of a red light next to the DRAM indicator indicates that the RAM module has not been seated correctly. I tried things like resetting CMOS, checking / cleaning the memory slots, swapping the ram sticks around and checking for bent pins on the cpu but none of them worked. However this time when booting, the computer did not display a signal. I then proceeded to add my 2nd ram stick, in slot 4 as instructed by my manual. ![]() With 1 ram stick in, I booted the computer and managed to reach BIOS. Motherboard manual said if using 1 ram to place it in the 2nd slot so I did. ![]() ![]() I got 3 long beeps so I moved on to adding 1 stick of ram. So first I tested my Motherboard + PSU + CPU + CPU cooler and used the motherboard speaker. Linked thread 23, where I found out how to do it. (Taking out the motherboard and putting it on a non conductive surface, I used the top of my motherboard box. Taking out everything inside the case and breadboarded. ROG Strix Z390-E / Processor: Intel i9-9900k / Graphics Card: MSI Gaming Trio. Posting this in case someone has the same problem.
